Grade 1 Class Play | The King's Son Who Feared Nothing
In this little package you’ll find the full script for our first grade play, which we performed just before spring break (though the story is not seasonal, so it would work at any time.)
It happened once upon a time
In a land not far away
There was a youth, the child of a king
Who went to find his way.
He was so strong and brave and true
Indeed, he had no fear
He left the castle to see the world
Traveling far and near.
I directed this play with my class of 27 first graders, but there are just 3 main parts. The rest of the parts are flexible and can be changed to accommodate however many children are in your class. When we performed it, the play took about 15 minutes.
The play is performed choral-style, with just a couple of lines specifically assigned to individuals, though, again, the play is flexible enough for this to be adjusted pretty easily. In this package, you’ll find:
A collection of 3 flute songs for use with interval and pentatonic flutes. I had hoped to incorporate flutes into our performance, so I set things songs aside (though we did not end up using them.)
Two of the songs we sang in our performance.
