Grade 2 Class Play | Fables From Around the World
I wrote this play to perform with my 28 2nd graders. The script — written entirely in verse — includes the stories of 3 fables, along with the music we sang and played.
The included stories are
The Fox and the Cat
The Elephants and the Moon
The Story of the Bat
The play is performed choral-style, though you can pull out individual lines for specific characters to play. Though I used this play with my large class of 28, the script really lends itself to classes of all sizes. For each story, the class is split in half and each half of the class plays the role of one of the animals (foxes and cats, elephants and rabbits, birds and beasts — and a bat, of course.)
