Grade 3 Genesis, Hebrew Legends & Measurement

$30.00

There’s no doubt that the Hebrew Legends meet the developmental stage of the third grader just perfectly. As I taught this block, I came to this realization more and more every day.

But these stories provided more than the “soul food” for the developing nine-year-old soul, they gave us a rich, fertile ground for practicing skills, developing daily routines and learning new concepts.

In this guide, I show you exactly how I used the stories to bring these new lessons, giving you a peek into my daily lesson book. Though in many ways this was a math block, as I taught, I realized how inter-disciplinary the third grade curriculum can be. So, though we were solving math problems and learning units of measure, we were also practicing reading and writing.

The stories and the content that goes with them, are so rich and meaningful, I have no doubt you’ll love teaching them (even if, like me, you have to do some work to reconcile yourself with the religious undertones.)

In addition to outlining the activities that you’ll work through in main lesson, I’ve included a wide array of songs, poems and verses that can be used throughout the third grade year. I have no doubt it will give you everything you need to have a successful block to start off your third grade year.

Here’s what you’ll find in this guide.

  • Day-to-day lesson plans, including stories, new material and suggestions for review activities

  • An overview of the curriculum and how it takes shape in a daily lesson

  • A guide to creating enlivening circle activities, with instructions for crafting your own circle exercises

  • Artistic content to use in your circle activities

  • Recommended resource and supply lists

All of this material is delivered through a DIGITAL FILE that you will download after purchasing. You will automatically be led through a download process and you will also receive a download link in your email inbox after the purchase is completed.

Questions about digital purchases? Email me here, and I’ll answer them.

I’m sure you’ll find this guide helpful. It will get you through this 6-week block and get your third grade year off to a good start.
