Grade 4 Math # 1

$40.00

I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for as much help as I can get when it comes to teaching math. Some of the concepts we teach in 4th grade are the most challenging processes you’ll ever teach your students (long division!).

My 4th grade math work is split up into 3 blocks and this is the first. I wanted to give the students a solid foundation working through long multiplication and long division before diving into fractions in our next block. Though some teachers introduce long multiplication at the end of 3rd grade, I held off (thanks COVID) which means that this first block of 4th grade is PACKED! Here are the concepts we went through in this block.

  • long multiplication

  • factors

  • multiples

  • prime numbers

  • long division

  • division terms

  • divisibility rules

We were learning entirely online for this block, though I didn’t find that this format interfered with our typical main lesson rhythm. It was more challenging to teach some of the more complex concepts online, but that just means that I have REALLY thought through how to help my students understand the math concepts best.

Here’s what you’ll find in this curriculum guide.

  • Primary content resources

  • Background thoughts about WHY you teach the block

  • An overview of HOW to teach the block

  • A day-to-day content outline

  • Daily review suggestions, including MANY handmade practice pages

  • An explanation of my dictation process, along with the dictations and quizzes I used in this block

  • Photos of sample main lesson book pages

  • The warm-up content I used during this block

All of this material is delivered through a DIGITAL FILE that you will download after purchasing. You will also receive a download link in your email inbox after the purchase is completed.

Note: This guide is over 100 pages of information with lots of images and links. It is best used as a digital resource, rather than a print-and-go resource.
