Grade 4 Norse Mythology # 2
Oh, Norse Mythology — the classic 4th grade block. The exciting stories of Odin, Thor and Loki absolutely delight and excite those 9- and 10-year-olds!
In this second Norse Mythology block, we dove deep into just a few stories — some of which aren’t often told. We used them as a background for our cultivating our written work and composition was a big focus during this three-week block.
We were learning entirely online for this block, though I didn’t find that this format interfered with our typical main lesson rhythm. If we had been in person we might have been able to take up more projects or perform our poems for friends and family, but we worked through the content and felt just as immersed in the material as ever.
